November 28, 2014-January 1, 2015, from 5-9 pm | Every day except December 24, 25, and 31, 2014 National Zoo, 3001 Connecticut Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20008
Experience the zoo like you never have before! More than 500,000 environmentally-friendly LED lights adorn the National Zoo and transform an ordinary visit to see the animals into an extraordinary one. New this year will be a dazzling light show set to music! Warm up in the small mammal house and see nocturnal animals in action before continuing the lovely walk through the zoo with illuminated animal and winter shapes guiding your way. Admission is free.

Manassas Park Holiday Light Parade
December 13, 2014, at 5:45 pm
Begins at General’s Ridge Golf Course and ends at the Manassas Park Police Department
Their Light Parade will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2014 starting at 5:45 pm. Vehicles will begin at General’s Ridge Golf Course and travel down Manassas Drive, across Route 28 to the Manassas Park Police Department where hot chocolate will be served.
Winter Wonderland Train Show at the Center for the Arts Candy Factory
December 10-12, 2014, from 5-8 pm; December 13, 2014, from 10 am-5 pm; December 14, 2014, from 10 am-4 pm

Gaze upon the sights and sounds of the railroad as you take in the majestic snowy landscape of mountains, bridges, rivers, cities, and villages that the National Capital Trackers have created for their ‘O’ and standard gauge model locomotives and for you to enjoy. Admission is free, but please bring non-perishable food items, unwrapped toys, and/or cash donations to benefit SERVE during the holiday season.

Located in historic downtown Herndon, the ninth annual holiday train show is an important part of Herndon tradition. Trains and railroads have played an important part in Herndon’s history, so make sure to check out the Washington and Old Dominion (W&OD) Depot Museum and Herndon caboose after viewing all the cool model trains. Free parking and free admission to all three venues
